Being based in such beautiful surroundings as the Dillington Estate, New Century are understandably keen to protect our environment.

We appreciate that it's not just large manufacturing companies that can clean-up their acts - even a relatively small design company like ourselves can make a difference by implementing a host of small, yet fundamental, changes to our business.

As designers, we're involved in the decision-making process right from the outset. This gives us a unique opportunity to encourage our clients to adopt solutions that have a minimal impact on the environment, such as the use of sustainable paper stocks from FSC-approved sources.

Then, when the creative work is completed, we're free to choose only the most responsible, local suppliers. Managing a job from concept right through to delivery ensures the shortest route to market with the minimum use of energy.

It's a sad fact that printing is said to be the 4th most polluting industry in the UK. Given this, we're proud that amongst our suppliers are printers using soya-based, instead of solvent-based, inks on waterless presses, which help to reduce volatile organic compound emissions - including greenhouse gases - by over 98%.

That said, we realise there is still much more that we can do. Never ones to rest on our laurels, once we have identified and implemented these improvements, we aim to stand out from the crowd and become an environmental benchmark for other agencies in the South-West.

A breath of fresh air, if you like.
